Alpine Timothy

Alpine Timothy (Phleum alpinum) is a perennial grass native to Northern and Western US states (such as Idaho, Oregon, Colorado, and Alaska) that can thrive in USDA Zones 2–6. Reaching a mature height of 8–20 inches with an upright bunching growth habit, it features smooth green leaf blades and produces short, thick, purplish cylindrical seed heads. It thrives in moist alpine and subalpine meadows, stream banks, and mountain slopes and is ideal for subalpine habitat restoration, watershed stabilization, and high-elevation forage.
