Baltic Rush

Baltic Rush (Juncus balticus) is a perennial forb native to Western and Northern US states (such as Oregon, Idaho, Colorado, and Minnesota) that can thrive in USDA Zones 3–9. Reaching a mature height of 1–3 feet with an upright, strongly creeping rhizomatous growth habit, it features dark green, wiry, leafless cylindrical stems and produces compact brownish flower clusters near stem tips. It thrives in wet meadows, brackish marshes, and stream margins and is ideal for wetland restoration, heavy shoreline erosion control, and biofiltration swales.
