California Poppy

California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica) is a perennial or annual forb native to Western US states (such as California, Oregon, Washington, and Arizona) that can thrive in USDA Zones 6–10. Reaching a mature height of 12–18 inches with a bushy, spreading growth habit, it features feathery, finely divided blue-green foliage and produces bright orange to yellow cup-shaped flowers. It thrives in well-drained sandy or gravelly soils in full sun and is ideal for dryland meadow revegetation, highway slope stabilization, and native pollinator corridors.
