Creeping red fescue

Festuca rubra

Creeping Red Fescue is a cool season, fine bladed, sod forming grass introduced from Europe. Leave texture is very fine, with a lighter shade of green compared to other cool season turfgrass species.

Creeping Red Fescue is well adapted to varying soil types, shaded areas and lower maintenance applications. Generally recommended for areas of partial shade, this specie will perform well under medium to low maintenance regimes in home lawns, cemeteries or wherever lower maintenance applications are desired.

Creeping Red Fescue is mostly found in mixes as component for lawn seed mixes, where shade tolerance is needed.
