Short-lived native perennial with scarlet red tubular flowers, blooming March to July. Drought tolerant, occurring on dry sagebrush, desert scrub and woodland communities; up to 11,000 ft. elevation. Use for restoration, pollinator enhancement and xeriscaping. Fibrous root system is excellent for soil stabilization. Attracts hummingbirds and other pollinators.
