Formerly Puccinellia airoides. Cool season, perennial sod-former found growing on moist alkaline sites and occasionally surviving in standing water. Valuable species to include in mixtures for reseeding marshes, shorelines, alkali basins or other waterways. Population decreases with soil drying, soil compaction and heavy grazing.
